Your Claude limits, always in view.
A small floating panel for your Mac that shows your Claude plan usage and every Claude Code session running on it.
Version 1.0 · 4.4 MB · macOS 14 or later · Apple silicon
Both limits at a glance
See your 5-hour and weekly usage and when each one resets. The meters change color at 50% and 80%, so you know before you run out.
Every session in one place
See which Claude Code sessions are working and which are idle. Jump to a session's terminal, or stop it, from the panel.
Nothing leaves your Mac
There's no account, no analytics, and no network calls. ClaudeMeter works entirely from files that Claude Code keeps on this Mac.

Common questions
- What do I need?
- An Apple silicon Mac on macOS 14 or later, and Claude Code signed in with a Pro or Max plan. Claude Code only reports plan usage on those plans. With an API key, the panel still lists your sessions, but the meters stay empty.
- What does Connect change on my Mac?
- It adds a small script to ~/.claude and points the status line in ~/.claude/settings.json at it. The script saves the plan usage Claude Code passes to its status line, then runs your existing status line, so yours looks the same. The first change backs up your settings to settings.json.claudemeter-backup. Saving the file sorts its keys.
- Why does a project show no usage?
- A project with its own statusLine setting in .claude/settings.json overrides the connected one, so sessions in that project don't report usage.
- Why do the numbers look old?
- Usage updates while Claude Code redraws its status line. If no session has run in a while, the panel tells you how old the numbers are.
- Why does macOS ask to let it control Terminal?
- ClaudeMeter uses that permission to open a session in a terminal window or bring its tab forward. macOS asks the first time you do this from the panel.
- Can it start when I log in?
- Yes. Add ClaudeMeter under System Settings › General › Login Items.
- How do I remove it?
- Click Disconnect in Settings to put your status line back, then delete the app. If you delete the app first, the script keeps your status line working without it.
